Suspension Testing

In an effort to test our equipment, we get help occasionally from our larger friends

Our goal is to test the equipment to at least 250lbs of person(s)

Here are some pictures showing where we tested Elkor's new Spreader Bars to destruction. Longwatcher already knew the cuffs could handle it, but it doesn't hurt to have pictures backing up the words.

It should be pointed out that the test subject did not trust the cuffs which is the reason for the cloth between her hand and the D-rings. By the third image, she had slipped and realized the cuffs held her quite well without the need to grip the D-ring.

Safety note: We don't recommend leaving someone suspended for more then 15 minutes without lots of practice and even less time (like 5 minutes) for the plus size people among us.  Jen, our model for this test, we estimated as a 5 minute max person.

For trivia: The cuffs held. However,  the spreader bars were tested using them in all the wrong ways (deliberately) and ended up bending slightly, but they gave plenty of warning even in this case, not simply failing.

How to use them wrong: We placed the chain in the outside and then fully extended the bar and placed Jen on the on the inside eye-bolts. We highly recommend attaching the shackles on the end of the bar to the chain, not placing any load on the Eyebolts used to set the extension length.

Elkor was still disappointed they bent.
